RISD Anti-Racism Coalition (risdARC) is dedicated to combating our institution’s prolonged history of anti-Blackness, marginalization, and discrimination along with the intersections of global systems of oppression affecting our community. We support and advocate for the needs of all students of color regardless of ethnicity, race, disability, gender, or sexuality.

I hope you are doing well. I want to thank you so much for your leadership of the RISD & RACE forum on June 16, 2020.  We all understand how much courage and resilience it must have taken for students to speak up in this way. We deeply regret that you had to do so, and pledge to do all we can as a department to support BIPOC students and faculty with far more care and commitment than in the past. Attached please find THAD's response to your words and those of your fellow students.

Please be in touch if you would like to follow up on anything in the document, now or at any time in the future.

I wish you all a peaceful and rejuvenating summer.

With my deepest respect,
